You will fall in love with Bliss and all the important characters who live there. But Emery will steal your heart. I love how Cole and Emery' s relationship grows in this believable story. I can't wait to read more about the good friends and family who surely will have their own stories unfold in ensuing books about Texas life. I particularly want to know what Dirk' s story is. This was a wonderful story about love in bloom. I can't help wonder if Lucy knew this love story was going to happen??!
Totally fell in love with Emery and Cole. Don't miss this series. Stayed up late to finish the book and it made me laugh and cry! Love small towns and their characters and can't wait to meet them again in the next book! Great story with a slight cliffhanger!
I enjoyed rhe book. It kept my attention note rest through out, and it was a nice clean cut book. Easy reading and happy ending.

Sex roaming hands without a lot of detail, easily skipped.
But these two are *really* sexually charged so they're back at it before long. There's the last part of chapter 19 and the first part of chapter 20 for you skippers. I only made it about five pages in before I figured out that this book is like the "naughty romance novel" genre that our heroine is so fond of. It might be a good story, but when the pants are already bulging before the end of chapter one, there's probably something going on. PASS
Yes, the story might be similar to those you've read by other authors. But, Katie does bring her characters to life! You can't help digging in to see just what Emery will do. And then you're hooked. Cole is everything you hope for. Romance novels are meant to be fun, taking you away into your imagination. This doesn't disappoint.
I absolutely loved it, and can't wait to read the next book. I totally fell in love with both Emery and Cole. You could feel the undeniable attraction between these two right from the start, no matter how much they both tried to deny it. I must say; all of the secondary characters were also very entertaining, too. I can't wait to read their stories, and find out what makes them all tick. I also want to know if they ever find the rest of the book.
Emery Wakefield fell in love with the 'Tender Heart' series of books while in college. Now an editor in NYC, she has been handed the opportunity of a lifetime. The Tender Heart author had planned a series of 11 books about the mail-order brides brought to Bliss, Texas but died before the final book was published. Now Emery has been mailed the first chapter of that missing book and it can solidify her place at the publishing house. Convincing her two best friends to accompany her to the small town, she meets Cole Arrington who just happens to resemble her favorite hero from the books. And wouldn't you know it, he just happens to be the nephew of the famed author. Cole is tired of the Tender Heart groupies who sometimes descend on the town looking for the ranch featured in the books. But for some reason, he finds it hard to ignore this one.
This is my first book by Katie Lane. The plot is different and moves quickly. The characters are so well done that you really feel like you have known them forever. The dialogue is witty with one-liners that will make you laugh. I have already purchased the second book in the series...although I had to really fight myself to keep from skipping ahead to Dirk's book. I highly recommend this book for those who like a little mystery and humor mixed in with their romances.
